NGO PAYS VISIT TO UGHELLI SOUTH COUNCIL!!!



Yesterday 18th Oct. 2023 at exactly 10 o'clock am, Viable Youth for Good Governance (VYGG) visited the Honourable Council Chairman Dr Richard Kofi for PARTNERSHIP purpose.

At the verge of discussion in the sitting, the renowned Nigeria Youth who happens to be the Founder/National Coordinator of the NGO Comr Edewor Otighoarievwen briefly stated in introduction Viable Youth for Good Governance has been in existence 21st February, 2021, functioning within her written aims and objectives till date.

Edewor also said, VYGG as an NGO has in its formation and existence host different project and programmes within Ughelli South Communities that was of interest and benefit to the people in the areas such programmes and project where executed. Such programmes were; 
1. Orientation on Consequences and Preventive Measures against Cultism.
2. Donations of school materials to students of both public and private schools.
3. Medical outreach programme.
4. Town Hall Meetings were hosted in various cities in Ughelli South by the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) Ughelli South Command in Collaboration with Viable Youth for Good Governance.

Edewor said in emphasis,  beneficiaries of the aforementioned programmes were so pleased with the government of the day and not the individuals that organize the programmes. As such, there is much more reason VYGG to always synergies with the local government where most functions of the organization has been carried out.

While he alter the courtesy visitation purpose which is PARTNERSHIP, he mentioned implementation of partnership purpose  in accordance with the No. 2, 4 and 5 written aims and objectives of the VYGG, which stated; (2)the organization will canvas for Improve Government Institutions Policies and Programmes (4) the organization will stand for the welfare of the society, improving community development services (5) the organization will advocate against societal ills, human right violation and the educate people on the right of citizenry.

Having the Honourable Chairman Olorogun (Dr) Richard Kofi who was ably represented by Barr Joel Akpesiri Opete, supervisor for Education/Community Development, Youth and Sport Ughelli South LGA, thanked the coordinator VYGG for the much anticipated courtesy visit to the council, the organization Public Relations Specialist Mr Peter A. Prince orally presented the organization MEMORANDUM with PROPOSAL to the Olorogun Hon  Dr Richard Kofi.
Firstly, he appreciated the executive chairman for his stewardship despite the structural and fiscal challenges of local government areas in Nigeria.


He said VYGG scored him high in all areas of service delivery especially security of life and properties of all residents of the local government area. He then presented proposal on the following areas below;
•Peace and Security 
•Advocacy on propagating the state health insurance coverage in the informal sector. To increase the enrollment
•Environmental Issues
•Agriculture and empowerment
•Farm Settlement and 
•Development Plan. He equally Suggested a convocation of all encompassing economic summit.
Need for government startup businesses in agro sector.

Mr Joel Johnny of the VYGG also eruditely draw the council attention to Drug Abuse issue in the LGA depicting the reason that we are losing our future leader's to drugs effects such as; insanity, violence, rape, criminal acts etc.

Conclusively, The chairman who was ably represented by Barr Joel Akpesiri Opete, supervisor for Education, Community Development, Youth and Sport was present with Mrs Margaret Evurosa, supervisor for health, Mr Edwin Oghojefa, supervisor for Works and Mr Jimmy Gordon Faka the executive Secretary to the LG Chairman to welcome and receive the certificate of RECOGNITION/SERVICE presented to the LGA Council Chairman.
